Mi nombre es Raul Rojas, hace 4 anos perdí mi vista totalmente entonces mi vida cambio completamente, pero gracias al esposo de Alejandra Perez que el me vio en un restaurante empezo todo este aprendizaje, conoci la organizacion llamada federacion nacional de ciegos que trabajo con ellos como miembro activo aqui en el valle del rio grande pero eneste momento estoy en la ciudad de Austin trabajando como estudiante en e mejor centro de reahibilitacion para personas ciegas de estados unidos, me falta poco para mi meta, lo cual es ser instructor de tecnologia para personas ciegas y discapacidad visual asi que puedo trabajar sin ningun problema en mi laptop con microsoft office,outlook,zoom y microsoft teams, tambien puedo usar mi celulr sin ningun problema y puedo usar diferentes aplicaciones para tomar el paratransit metro McAllen para hacer mis compras de super mercado, citas medicas y ir al gym, por ultimo tambien juego beep baseball con el equipo black hawks de la ciudad de Austin y en julio sera mi primera experiencia en la serie mundial en la ciudad de Saint Louis, espero que con mi testimonio pueda motivar a todas las personas que podemos inventar cualqier excusa para todo y que los limites se los pone uno.
My name is Raúl Rojas. Four years ago, I completely lost my sight, and my life changed completely. However, thanks to Alejandra Pérez’s husband, who saw me in a restaurant, this journey of learning began and transformed my path. I got to know the organization called the National Federation of the Blind, with which I work as an active member here in the Rio Grande Valley. Currently, I am in the city of Austin, studying at the best rehabilitation center for blind people in the United States. I am very close to achieving my goal of becoming a technology instructor for blind and visually impaired people. Today, I can work seamlessly on my laptop using programs like Microsoft Office, Outlook, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams. I also handle my phone with ease and use different apps to organize my daily life, such as taking the paratransit Metro McAllen to do my grocery shopping, attend medical appointments, and go to the gym. Lastly, I want to share that I play beep baseball with the Black Hawks team from the city of Austin. In July, I will have my first experience at the World Series in the city of Saint Louis. I hope my testimony inspires others. Many times, we come up with excuses to avoid moving forward, but the limits are set by ourselves.
