Disability Chamber of Commerce RGV Awarded Texas Bar Foundation Grant for Disability Legal Education Initiative
We are honored and deeply grateful to be selected as part of the Texas Bar Foundation’s 2026 grant cycle.
This support will help the Disability Chamber of Commerce Rio Grande Valley launch Legal Pathways to Adulthood for Texans with Disabilities Under Texas Law — a community education initiative designed to help families better understand guardianship, supported decision-making, powers of attorney, and other important legal options for adults with disabilities.
Through bilingual educational materials, community seminars, and partnerships with regional school districts and legal professionals, this project will provide families with clear, accessible information so they can make informed decisions with confidence, dignity, and clarity.
Since its inception in 1965, the Texas Bar Foundation has awarded more than $30 million in grants to law-related programs across Texas. Supported by members of the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Bar Foundation is the nation’s largest charitably funded bar foundation.
We are thankful to be part of a broader community investing in education, access, advocacy, and stronger systems of support for Texans with disabilities and their families.

Key Initiatives
The RGV H.I.R.E.S. Job Fairs are a key DCC-RGV initiative designed to create real, practical solutions for both job seekers and employers across the Rio Grande Valley. These events connect employers with a strong, diverse talent pool—including individuals with disabilities and those without—because we believe opportunity grows when everyone is seen for their skills, potential, and work ethic.
Through this platform, DCC-RGV helps strengthen the regional workforce by building direct pathways to employment, encouraging inclusive hiring practices, and promoting workplace cultures where people can thrive. We bring together employers, community partners, and job seekers around shared values—access, dignity, and economic opportunity for all.
